****tips when sending letters or packages****
The mail system is VERY corrupt in many third world countries so it is recommended to write in red ink (old myth)& write things like "God Bless" or drawing a cross on the package. Mail carriers are not likely to open packages w/ religious notes or symbols on them. Airmail (Letters) can take up to 2 weeks. Surface mail can take several months if not shipped via FedEx or UPS. Make sure to always fill out custom paperwork when sending a package & consider insurance because only 80-90% of packages are received.

Mailing Tips from fellow PCV:

- Use padded envelopes instead of boxes, esp. the hard to open bubbly kind (2 pound works great)
- Number packages/letters if you send me lots. Numbering the letter helps me to know if they are missing a letter or receiving one out-of-order.
- Label packages "Feminine Hygiene Products Enclosed" or "Religious Artifacts Enclosed"
